Photos: Aleks Brajic | Words: Aleks Brajic As each year passes, I am seeing more and more mind blowing cars being built. Boundaries are being pushed, new limits being set but there is often one particular build that sets itself apart from many others. One that extends beyond those boundaries and pushing those limits, to the point in which the car is in its own category and becomes a work of art and for Troy Miles FUUARK Nissan Silvia S14 is just that. Currently going through a full rebuild, Troy invited me over to take some progress shots. Inspiration, the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative. In the world of cars this has a lot of meaning; it’s the common bond we as enthusiasts have that keeps us building our pride and joy. In this case Troy’s major inspiration is his late father who had a passion for building tough street/show rides. Owning a blown 600hp Bedford van, shaved panels with the block sitting inside next to him whilst driving almost acting like an armrest, you can see where Troy gets his insane ideas from. One thing that Troy learnt from his best friend was ‘ Do it once, do it properly’. Over time owning the car, it has encountered problems, like all cars. It has spun bearings in two motors so he listened to his dad and the decision was made to go all out and do it right. A variety of parts from very prospective parts dealers have been ordered including Nitto, ARP and BC. As Troy states ‘the thing that wins the girls is the aesthetics’ so the whole engine bay has been shaved and stitched. The colour scheme of purple and white will stay but more importantly Rex Kelway was called and tubs were fabricated. With such detail in the engine bay, naturally the cars exterior would have to be just as detailed and stand out. He already had the perfect starting point wheels wise, owning a set of Work Meisters S1 but the sizing 18×8 +33 wasn’t aggressive enough so they’ve been resized to 18×9 +8 (fronts) and 18×11.5 +5 (rear) staying with the cars theme they were painted purple. A S14 JDM rear bar was added to give the rear a simple touch of class. From what you have seen Troy’s build is definitely something to look out for when it’s done. Troy predicts it will be done within a month or so. Stay tuned!

Trying to make an S15 in the Sydney car scene unique is indeed a task at hand. Blake Munro, a 22 year old mechanic has not only nailed this but has shown a reflection of his lifestyle and passion with his unique S15. After a hard day of work, Blake managed to wash his car and meet us at a well known photography location, Botany Boat Ramps. With a clean car and wheels made in heaven Blake and his Silvia were ready to shine for Fitment Freaks! OMG20Q is equipped with Option 1 Garage 18×9 +20 on the front and 18×10 +15 Rota Grids on the rear. These wheels are wrapped in Khumo Ecsta Spt, 215/40 on the front and 225/40 on the rear to give this Silvia a stretched and ultimately clean look. With the handy work of Option 1 Garage these wheels were painted in candy purple to not only push the boundaries of car modification but to also make this car stand out. To keep OMG20Q static, Racing R coilovers were installed, whilst NISMO front and rear performance sway bars and a NISMO strut brace assist in keeping this car tight and stiff. Blake has aimed to keep his car as reliable as possible by only doing minimal modifications. This SR20 has a Walbro 255 fuel pump to keep this monster well fed. A HKS mushroom filter helps it breathe whilst a stainless steel manifold and A’PEXi cat back exhaust system with Image Offset blast pipes release its deadly gasses into the ozone layer with style. A JJR oil catch can has been installed to assist in prolonging the life of the T28 ball bearing turbo. Swapping out the dual mass flywheel and inserting a Exedy Heavy duty clutch and solid fly wheel was a must along with a Nismo 1.5 way differential keeps OMG20Q sideways. A Greddy profec B spec II boost controller was installed and is currently running 14psi. OMG20Q is supporting a NISMO aero kit and sideskirts with a Vertex rear bar. Aftermarket tail lights were also installed. Stickers are scattered across this car inside and out, representing the INKurable love Blake has for tattoos and car tattoos (stickers). What we think heaven looks like. As the shoot progressed, the daylight came to end and the moon and stars came out. The wheels now glistening in a different light looked more intense and crazier than before. As we came to a wrap, Blake told us about his future plans for OMG20Q. They are to install a bride style racing seat which he has at home, an essential for any Silvia, a front mount intercooler, a stainless steel dump pipe and Catco high flow cat, a GT2871R along with a Nistune ECU, Nismo 740cc injectors, Rockerstoppers and Tomei pro cams. The aim for 250kW at the wheels is not far for Blakes power dreams. He also wants to purchase adjustable camber and caster arms to give him less understeer and more control when on the track. Blake’s love for ink, stickers and cars are portrayed beyond measures understandable to the general public. His addiction is INKurable.
