Photos: Jason De | Words: Jason De A friend in need is a friend indeed. After shooting Van and Jenny a day before Jenny got her new plates, she asked us to re shoot her car! With our time so tied up, I managed to squeeze her in before a dinner with All Stars and Downshift. Our destination was the city! After meeting in the outskirts of Glebe, we ventured into a freshly painted alleyway. Immediately, a local walked past and commented on how clean this car is. In an attempt to impress the two beautiful women which stood in front of him (Jenny and Mona) he started bragging about his Harley. To put it short, this did not last long and he was on his bike as some would say. Click, Click, Click. It was time to change locations! What better place to go than the heart of Sydney, The Harbour Bridge! It’s amazing to see such a unisex & diverse community amongst automotive enthusiasts. Girls that drive stick are hot. THE. FUCKING. END.

Words: Nathan Kumar | Photos: Jason De, Jake De One of the oldest sayings going around, “don’t re-invent the wheel” but here Ray from RAW Works is doing exactly that, not really the way we had you thinking though. Ray spends his time collecting old wheels and repairing and nurturing them back to the days of their former glory comparable to when they rolled fresh of the assembly line. This is a man that’s not in for the money, fame nor recognition. He is a true wheel and rim enthusiast, a dying breed. Many of the likes of similarities and drive and passion, similar to the approach die hard old school tuners in Japan use. He started in 2009 and has been at it ever since, reason being he didn’t have the coin to purchase a brand new set of wheels so opted to purchase a set that were in need of some TLC and do the hard yards himself only to realize he had a passion for doing so and to continue refurbishing wheels that require some attention. A quick scroll though his blog will show the workmanship he posses. The steps and dedication he applies into all of his projects and also the art he creates out of bits and pieces of rims. It’s safe to say the man is an artist and like any good artist, he shows himself through his work. The wheels above are being built for Areis’ Civic which we featured along side Luke’s S2000. This Civic is going to look mental! For all your wheel repairs and refurbishments have a look at his blog and get in contact. http://raw-works.blogspot.com/ http://www.facebook.com/raysalloywheelworks

Photos: Jake De & Aleks B. | Words: Nathan Kumar cha·ris·ma Noun: Compelling attractiveness or charm that can inspire devotion in others. A divinely conferred power or talent Now that you’re on par with the term and the dictionary definition lets delve deeper, how does one define charisma or appear to be charismatic? Charisma in the car scene is usually defined through the way the owner presents his car to the rest of the scene. With the stance movement swooping in fast and hard, many people opt to play it safe and go for vehicles that they know will be widely accepted by the majority. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but every once and again we get to see a glimpse of someone who dares to think outside the box and break the set moulds that the culture follows. Here we have here two friends who walk the same path in life both as students studying and both with a passion for cars. Both drive Honda’s but that’s as far as the similarities list goes. First up we have Areis with black FD2 Honda Civic, who has taken the “less is more” approach at modifying his car, the late model Civic keeps in contact with the tarmac with its work XD9’s running 17×8.5 up front and 17×9.5 with the aid of 20mm spacers to fill out the rear guards. +32 offset for the front and +18 for the rear ensures there’s enough poke to fill out the Civics sleek guards. An “air force air suspension” kit plays the role on this Honda as gravity does on all else, making sure it’s constantly at an ideal height for the given situation or simply just slammed, just how we like it! Visual mods were kept to a minimum as if though not to ruin the original lines of the car that Honda engineers had worked on to get right. A Mugen lip kit and a duck tail spoiler just to ensure this isn’t mistaken for “mum’s grocery go getter” gets the job done and ensuring his ride is subtle yet stands out for all the right reasons. Next up, we have Luke with his pearl white S2000, who has seem to opt for a some-what more in your face approach to his build. The S2000 sits incredibly low thanks to a set of BC Racing coilovers, allowing the 17×9 inch Rays TE37s to do their job and fill up those guards, running +22 offset all round the car has enough poke to make you choke! The pearl white hue contrasts amazingly with the full cream re-trimmed leather interior on the inside of Luke’s S2000. Every S2000 has a boy-racer stigma attached to it and it wouldn’t be right to allow the little Honda to live up its huge potential, taking care of this is a K&N air filter to allow the F20C between its struts do what its known to do, breathe! and loudly when the VTEC pops, to say the least ! Dual titanium exhaust expel the exhaust gasses from behind and look like absolute porn, all whilst delivering a very nice exhaust note. So here we have it two friends, two Honda’s, two very different approaches that work well when played out resulting in two charismatic cars rolling around the streets of Sydney. Diversify people!

Photos: Aleks Brajic | Words: Aleks Brajic With so much food and drinks left over from the All Stars spring picnic, why let it all go to waste? So the crew from All Stars x Zen garage held a free BBQ at Zen! With the sun shining & tunes pumping, you could tell it was going to be a great start to the weekend, so much so the car park was full! Claudio manning the BBQ! Our own Aleks performing his ‘Straya C*NT’ impersonation. Stephen arrived at Zen sporting his new look wheels so we decided to take a closer look! Freshly painted candy teal XXR 521’s with nice touch of pearl flake! James’ FD1 Civic now static, still low! We approve! A bit of nostalgia is always a must. Overall, it was a great day. A lot of new people were met. These are the types of days that brings the car community together as one no matter what style of modification you’re in or what car you drive. A BIG thanks to Zen Garage and All Stars for these types of days.

It’s not every day you see a couple that share the same interests let alone drive the same type of car! I’m sure the majority of automotive enthusiasts would love for their partner to share the same interests if they haven’t already been forced into doing so. Alex and Julie both had an idea of how they wanted to modify their cars and so their journey began. Being a small fish in a big pond can be quite stressful at times and lets face it, we all need an outlet. Alex uses his car as his outlet. Not only is this car daily driven but also a track warrior! Alex’s Type S is rolling on 17×9 +22 Enkei RPF1s wrapped in 235/45 Dunlop tyres. It has been professionally lowered on Buddyclub RSD coilovers and is rocking a Hardrace rear camber kit and Hardrace RCA’s (Roll Center Adjusters). Upgraded PCI offset bushings help stabilize the car. To complete the look, Alex added a full Mugen lip kit which was painted to match the rest of the car. The leather seats were swapped out for SR4 Recaros. Practicality is a must when your car gets tracked often. As you can tell by the wear on the seats, the car has definitely been put to use. The K20Z1 is breathing through an Injen CAI (Cold Air Intake) and expelling gasses through 4-2-1 TODA headers and a Spoon N1 catback exhaust. A Hondata KPRO is the brain of the Type S which assists in pushing out 140kW at the wheels. In the male dominated car scene, Julie needed something which shows style and sophistication. This Luxury DC5 which Julie has owned since she obtained her license has been transformed to suit her. To get the car rolling, Julie has staggered BBS LM’s with 18×8 +35 up front and 18×9 +35 in the rear. To hold them in place are Work RS wheel nuts. The wheels are wrapped in 215/40 Toyo T1R’s. To stop the tyres rubbing, Tein Basic coilovers have been installed all around. To give this car the attitude it deserved a Type R wing was added and custom plates were put on. Julie has installed a Spoon air filter to help the K20A breathe. Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction.
